奈良県出身。4歳よりヴァイオリンを始める。京都市立芸術大学音楽学部を卒業後、渡仏する。パリ・スコラカントルム音楽院のcycle supérieur の課程にて審査員満場一致の最優秀の成績でディプロムを取得。ベルギー王立ゲント音楽院を経て、スヴィッツェライタリアーナ音楽院にて修士演奏課程を修了。第60回日本学生音楽コンクール大阪大会高校の部入選。第16回、第19回日本クラシック音楽コンクール全国大会入選。第3回名古屋アンサンブルフェスタにて特別講師賞受賞。 2014年、フランスのサントにて、ピリオド楽器を用いたオーケストラプロジェクトに参加して以来、ピリオド奏法に情熱を抱く。2018年、マーク・ミンコフスキ率いるルーブル宮音楽団にてアカデミー生として在籍。長岡京室内アンサンブルに参加。これまで、北浦洋子、辻久子、五十嵐由紀子、澤和樹、大谷玲子、中島慎子、森悠子、安紀ソリエール、ジャン=ピエール・ヴァレーズ、アレッサンドロ・モッチアの各氏に師事。現在フランス、ストラスブール地方音楽院のバロックバイオリン課程にてステファニー・フィステル・レイマンに師事。
Kasumi Higurashi commence le violon à l’âge de 4ans au Japon. Après avoir obtenu le diplôme de la licence à l’Université des arts de Kyoto, elle vient en Europe pour continuer ses études. Elle obtient en juin 2019 le diplôme de Master Performance à Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana en Suisse. Elle s’intéresse toujours à la musique jouée sur instruments d’époque depuis qu’elle a participé au Jeune Orchestre de l’Abbaye à Saintes en 2014. Elle s’est engagée dans le projet « Beethoven Héroïque » avec Insula Orchestra. Elle commence l’étude du violon baroque à Strasbourg en septembre. Depuis 2018 également, elle est stagiaire des Musiciens du Louvre.
Kasumi Higurashi was born in Nara, Japan. She began playing violin at age four. She graduated from Faculty of Music, Kyoto City University of Arts and went to France. She got a diplama at cycle supérieur course of Schola Cantorum Conservatory, Paris with highest distinction by a unanimous judgement. She got master's degree of Performace in Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Switzerland after her study in Royal Conservatory of Ghent in Bergium. She received a prize in Senior Highschool Student Category, Osaka Region of the 60th Japanese Student Music Competition.She received prizes in the 16th and the 19th Japanese Classical Music Competition. She awarded a special lecturer prize at the 3rd Ensemble Festa in Nogoya, Japan. Since participating in a project using period instruments in the Jeune Orchester de l'Abbaye in Santes in 2014, France, she has maintained a passion for a period performance. In 2018, she was enrolled as an academy member in The Musicians of the Louvre led by Marc Minkowski.She participated in Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble in Kyoto. She learned playing violin under Yoko Kitaura, Hisako Tsuji, Yukiko Igarashi, Kazuki Sawa, Reiko Ohtani, Chikako Nakamura, Yuko Mori, Aki Sauliére, Jean-Pierre Wallez, and Alessandro Moccia.She is studying at Baroque Violin Course of Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Strasbourg, France under Stéphanie Pfister.
